It has been out for a month (on the ftp) really, but here it is for those of you who haven't noticed:

To be honest not that many of the people that signed up for beta testing have been reporting back any issues they've had, or other feedback. Either that implies that all is perfect, or that people simply lost interest. I don't know which. In any case, we're interested in your feedback, so please download it, test it and get back to us!
For short, during the last few months a lot of work was put into migrating Incognito to xorg-1.6 from the ancient albeit reliable 1.3 series, mostly due to its supposedly superior improved hardware detection. However, that seemed to introduce more problems than it solved, so that effort was dropped completely. Because of this a significant amount of work was simply lost, sad but true.
It seems that in these days Gentoo might not be the ideal distro to base a LiveCD Linux distribution intended to work on the largest amount of hardware configurations possible. Because of this the next (i.e. after the next stable Incognito release) version will likely be based on another distro, probably one of the *ubuntu:s, which hopefully might also attract more developers *hint*.
The next stable Incognito release will be out once the tor-0.2.1 series goes stable. There's currently a release candidate of it so hopefully the release isn't too far away, but until then serious users are recommended to use the beta version. It uses the latest version of Tor (0.2.0.34) which fixes a number of serious anonymity/security issues.
Lastly, we have a request for something we would like to include in the next stable release. It has been reported that a Chinese political activist was arrested using Incognito in an Internet cafe in Shanghai, China, simply because one of its managers saw that something looked different on the screen (the Incognito theme, the use of Firefox or similar) and called for the Chinese thought police. So, if there's any graphical artists/theme makers out there familiar with the KDE 3.5.x theme format willing to supply us with a Microsoft Windows XP+Vista look-a-like theme (and perhaps even a Firefox theme that mimics IE) we're sure that it would be greatly appreciated by some.
